The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency holds a memorial service to honour Dana Air Crash victims.


Dana Air Flight 992 was a scheduled domestic commercial passenger flight from Abuja to Lagos, Nigeria. It quite unfortunate that the flight crashed on a printing press building in the Iju-Ishaga neighbourhood of Lagos.
According to media reports, the crash of Flight 992 is the deadliest aviation disaster, the tragic event resulted in the death of all 153 people on board.

However, the General Manager of LASEMA, Mr Adeshina Tiamiyu, gave the assurance that LASEMA would respond as soon as the toll free numbers – 112 or 767 are called.

He advised Nigerians to console the bereaved and to be watchful as accidents are indispensable happenings.

"Whether we like it or not emergencies will occur, accidents will happen, but if they ever happen again, we are better prepared.

“We have more personnel, we have more equipment, we have better training, we have expanded in size, and Lagos State Government has put money in emergency management,” he said
